About this print

“Dublin Bay” is an original, limited edition, hand-pulled lino print. It is designed, carved and hand printed in West Cork. It is one of the biggest linocut prints I can currently produce.

This print stretches from Shankill to Donabate and pretty much follows the route of the DART as it winds it’s way along the coast of Dublin. It takes in Killiney Bay, Dalkey and Dalkey Island, Dún Laoghaire, Blackrock, Sandymount Strand, Dublin Harbour, Clontarf, Dollymount, Raheny, North Bull Island, Howth, Ireland’s Eye, Portmarnock, Malahide and all the many towns, villages, coves and inlets in between.

“Dublin Bay” would not be complete without the mighty River Liffey as it completes it’s journey from the Wicklow Mountains and enters the Irish Sea. If you look closely, you will also see the many bridges that carry an endless stream of people from the North to the South side and vice versa daily, including the famous ha’penny bridge .You will also find the Grand and Royal Canals, that connect with the River Shannon in the West of Ireland. The Canal was started in 1759 and transported people and goods East and West until the last working barge passed through the Grand Canal in 1960. You can also see the River Tolka where it ends it’s journey at Dublin Bay.

Tucked down in the bottom left hand corner of the print are the beautiful Dublin Mountains, a haven of biodiversity and natural beauty.

Each “Dublin Bay” is individually printed by hand using the highest quality fade resistant gold ink. It is printed on azure blue Canson mi-teintes paper. This is a 60% cotton paper, acid free and conservation quality. This means that your print will resist fading, yellowing and deterioration.

*Please note that the print comes unframed. The images supplied are simply to give an idea of how it may look when framed.

Also please note that your print was made by a human hand and not a printing machine. This means that there will be small variations between prints, which adds to their uniqueness.

If a print is out of stock, please check back again in a couple of weeks, as I will be printing more. If a limited edition sells out, it will be removed from the shop.

Due to the size of the print, it will be sent rolled in a protective mailing tube and packaged to avoid damage to the print. It will be ready to bring to a framers for framing.
